Dr. Louise Aronson will be at Towne Center Books to discuss her new book, Elderhood: Redefining Aging, Transforming Medicine, Reimagining Life.
In Elderhood, noted geriatrician Louise Aronson, MD, examines an often denigrated stage of the human lifetime: old age. Using stories from her twenty-five years of experience caring for patients, and drawing from history, science, literature, popular culture, and her own life, Aronson weaves a vision of old age that's neither nightmare nor utopian fantasy--a vision full of joy, wonder, frustration, outrage, and hope about aging, medicine, and humanity itself.
Louise Aronson, MD MFA, is a geriatrician, writer, and professor of medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. The author of Elderhood and A History of the Present Illness, she is a regular contributor to the New York Times and the New England Journal of Medicine among other publications. She lives in San Francisco.
